To start laying a row (be it paper or plastic) begins like this. An operator on back pulls out the drip tape. Then the bed cover, paper in this case, is unrolled. The machine is lowered to contact the ground. A shovel is used to add dirt and weigh down the end of the paper or plastic. And finally, the drip tape is tied to the shovel. Just to note, the dog in the picture is Lily. She is the resident farm dog.
