Just off I-90 in eastern South Dakota is the town of Mitchell. There you will find the world's only corn palace. From a distance it is hard to see, but the outside of the building is decorated in a mosaic of multi-colored corn. The designs are first sketched onto roofing fabric, which is then applied to the building. This guides workers as they nail on the split cobs of corn. I have to say this was a real treat. Way to go Mitchell.Tuesday, August 17, 2010
